Fountain Hills History.
Fountain Hills was just a vision in 1960 when Robert P. McCulloch purchased 4,500 acres of land northeast of Scottsdale. McCulloch was also the master-mind behind Lake Havasu City Arizona on the Colorado River. Fountain Hills land was originally part of a large cattle ranch. In 1971, McCulloch bought an additional 12,000 acres and Fountain Hills was officially incorporated in 1989. Today Fountain Hills is one of the hottest real estate markets in Arizona.
