There Are Two Different Areas Called Paradise Valley.
The geographic difference between the Village of Paradise Valley and the Town of Paradise Valley can be confusing to non-Phoenicians. The "Village" is actually within the City of Phoenix whereas the Town of Paradise Valley is a separately incorporated area. Although they share a common border, there is a distinct difference in both lifestyle and home values.
The Village of Paradise Valley.
The City of Phoenix is comprised of 15 "Urban Villages" each with its own Planning Committee. The Village of Paradise Valley is one of those villages and lies in the northeast area of Phoenix and features an active family style environment.
The Village of Paradise Valley is a self-contained urban community with an abundance of shopping and convenient amenities. This area is bounded east and west from Scottsdale Road to about 16th street and north to south from the Central Arizona Project Canal to Piestewa Peak (Squaw Peak).
Homes in the Village run the gamut from very affordable single-family homes and condos to luxury estates and equestrian property on large acreage lots. Located near the Phoenix Mountain Preserves you'll find great hiking, biking and equestrian trails with very scenic backdrops. Hiking Piestewa Peak is a popular past-time for local residents where they are rewarded with spectacular views of the city upon reaching it summit.
The Town of Paradise Valley.
Make no mistake. The enclaves within the Town of Paradise Valley are best described as luxurious. Real estate here is some of the most valuable in the country with huge estates selling in the multiples of millions of dollars. There are no housing clones here. Every home is custom designed to fulfill a rich lifestyle.
The Town of Paradise Valley is a small area encompassing about 16 square miles with a population of about 13,000 very fortunate residents. It is nestled between northeast Phoenix and Scottsdale and sets in the shadows of the famous Camelback Mountain which features some of the best urban hiking in America. A trek to the top of Echo Canyon reaches striking panoramic views across the landscape of Phoenix and Scottsdale AZ.
Some of the most famous residents of the Town of Paradise Valley include Vice President Dan Quayle, singers Stevie Nicks and Alice Cooper, actor Leslie Nielsen, former US Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor and Arizona Diamondbacks Mark Grace and Randy Johnson. But perhaps most famous of Paradise Valley Arizona residents is the now deceased Presidential candidate Barry Goldwater.
